  1. HIPAA: Opt-Out of Certain Uses & Disclosures of PHI
    Under HIPAA, you may request restrictions on certain uses or disclosures of your Protected Health Information (PHI). 

You may request to opt out of: 

  1. Non-Essential Communications Using PHI
    You may request limited or discontinued communications, such as:
    • Optional appointment reminders
    • Scheduling updates
    • Educational or wellness information not required for treatment 

Required communications related to treatment, safety, compliance, or legal obligations cannot be opted out of. 

  1. Restricting Disclosure to Health Plans
    If you pay out-of-pocket in full for a service, you may request that information about that service not be shared with your insurance plan. 
  2. Restricting PHI Sharing with Family or Caregivers
    You may request that PHI not be disclosed to:
    • Family members
    • Caregivers
    • Persons involved in your care
    (except where required by law or in emergencies)
     
  3. Fundraising Communications
    We do not currently use PHI for fundraising. If this changes, you will have the right to opt out of all such communications.
    How to Request HIPAA Restrictions
    All HIPAA-related opt-out requests must be submitted to our Privacy Officer:

Requests are reviewed within 30 days in accordance with HIPAA rules.
 

  1. Email Communication Opt-Out
    You may opt out of receiving non-essential email communications, including:
    • Optional appointment reminders
    • Educational materials
    • Practice announcements
    • Newsletters (if applicable) 

You may not opt out of essential messages such as:
• Treatment-related communications
• Legal, safety, or compliance notices
• Privacy breach notifications 

To opt out of email communications, you may:
• Click “Unsubscribe” (when available), or
• Email privacy@pinnaclewc.com with the subject line “Email Opt-Out.” 

Processing time: 5–10 business days.
 

  1. SMS/Text Message Opt-Out (TCPA-Compliant)
    If you opt into SMS messaging, you may opt out at any time.

Text the following to stop receiving messages:
• STOP – unsubscribes you immediately, with a final confirmation message
• HELP – provides assistance
• UNSUBSCRIBE – also accepted 

Additional TCPA-required disclosures:
• Message and data rates may apply
• SMS consent is not a condition of receiving services
• Your phone number is not shared with or sold to any third party  

Processing time: Immediate upon sending STOP.

PHI-related deletion requests must follow HIPAA requirements and may not always be granted.

    We do not sell personal information and do not share personal data for advertising purposes. 

You may request that we:
• Limit sharing of non-PHI data with website vendors
• Disable analytics-based information transfers where feasible
• Restrict internal access to your personal data

  1. GDPR Rights for EU/EEA Visitors
    If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have GDPR rights including: 
  • Right to access your personal data
    • Right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
    • Right to request erasure of personal data where permitted
    • Right to restrict processing in certain situations
    • Right to withdraw consent at any time
    • Right to data portability
    • Right to object to certain types of processing
    • Right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority

Response time: 30 days, extendable to 60 days for complex requests.

    Under Arkansas law, you may:
    • Request information about the personal data we hold
    • Request correction of inaccurate non-PHI data
    • Request deletion of non-PHI personal data (if not prohibited by law)
    • Receive data breach notifications if applicable

Processing time: 10–30 days.

    We retain data only as long as necessary for:
    • Providing services
    • Legal compliance
    • Security and fraud prevention
    • Required HIPAA medical record retention periods 

GDPR users may request earlier deletion where legally permissible.

Devin Sessions, MD, CWSP, PCHM

Meet Doctor Sessions

Dr. Sessions, a native Arkansan from DeQueen, began her medical journey at the University of Central Arkansas, earning a Bachelor’s degree in biology. Following medical school graduation from UAMS, she relocated to Dallas, Texas, for a Family Medicine residency. During her final year of residency, an elective rotation in wound care ignited her passion for the field. Post-residency, she continued training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine at Medical City Dallas Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, eventually assuming the role of attending physician.

Returning to Arkansas in 2020, Dr. Sessions has continued to provide specialized wound care and hyperbaric medicine services. She opened her own clinic, Pinnacle Wound Care, in the summer of 2024.

Dr. Sessions is a Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP) though the American Board of Wound Management, she has earned the Physician Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine (PCHM) through the American Board of Wound Healing, and she is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician.
